The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing or arranging for repairs of all building operating systems.  This position ensures optimal functioning of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, lighting, security, safety and irrigation/fertigation as well as general building maintenance, as necessary.  The Maintenance Manager implements and enforces the requirements to meet the intent of our environmental and safety policies.  This position also participates in the specification, justification, contracting and project management of any construction or installation activities.  The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring all operating systems utilized to cultivate or process materials are operational with minimal downtime, including the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance programs.  Some evening, night or weekend work may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Comply with all safety regulations
  • Develop and implement criteria and work instructions for preventative maintenance procedures
  • Develop and maintain maintenance logs for facility equipment and systems equipment
  • Implement a system of work orders for scheduled and unscheduled repairs for all facility systems and facility equipment
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs on all systems and equipment
  • Support the purchase, installation, and relocation of any equipment
  • Monitor all utility costs and develop cost-reduction plans
  • Manage procurement for cost-effective building services
  • Manage grounds/property for seasonal upkeep and beautification
  • Manage facility sanitation, waste disposal, and recycling programs
  • Actively manage performance of vendor partners

  • The ideal candidate will embrace a mindset of Extreme Ownership, taking full responsibility for their contributions and driving positive outcomes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Manager
  • Demonstrated leadership experience of maintenance teams or construction crews
  • Practical knowledge of commercial HVAC, chiller/boiler systems and environmental controls
  • Practical knowledge of building electrical systems and variable frequency drives
  • Practical knowledge of irrigation, water pumps, and plumbing systems
  • Strong logistics and planning skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and operations software packages

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                              

 

Directly supervise the work activities of others and make recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal, and professional development.

 

Education and Experience:                                                    

                               

Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) or four (4) years of equivalent job-related experience.

BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial preferred) or equivalent job-related experience
