Post-Harvest Supervisor reports directly to the Post-Harvest/Packaging Manager and choreographs the post-harvest processes. This position plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates post-harvest activities of workers engaged in flower trimming, flower sorting, testing, and packaging processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure that all post-harvest activities are completed each week.
- Track Key Performance Indicators for the department.
- Enter work schedules and process payroll for the department.
- Plan out the following week’s activities and write the work plan for the Division’s Newsletter.
- Compile and present department performance information every week.
- Track department/division performance within Acumatica and Metrc computer software systems.
- Interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in the organization.
- Using computers and computer systems to write, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Making Decisions and Problem Solving – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others – Getting members of a group or groups to work together to accomplish tasks.
- Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings – Monitoring and reviewing information from materials or processes to detect or assess problems.
- Standard Operating Procedures – Identifying and writing standard operating procedures.
- Developing and Building Teams – Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Adjusting personnel numbers within various teams in relation to company growth and improved work efficiency.
- Judging the Qualities of Process and People – Assessing the value of process and people.
- Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Teammates – Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Coaching and Developing Teammates – Identifying the developmental needs of direct reports and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Receive Task Information – Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, and Subordinates – Providing information to supervisors, direct reports, and co-workers in written form, email, or in person
- Developing Objectives and Strategies – Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards – Using relevant information in association with the Director of Compliance and Safety and personal judgment to determine whether tasks or processes comply with Missouri state laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - 3+ years of demonstrated personnel management experience
- Horticulture or Agriculture experience preferred
- Experience managing hourly teammates
- Experience in identifying flower integrity risks
- Mechanical aptitude – able to demonstrate knowledge of trimming, sorting, packaging, labeling equipment, and various types of machinery with a base knowledge of electrical.
- Detail and data oriented
- Ideal candidate: Experience in post-harvest operations
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, Metrc, and ERP Systems (Acumatica) a plus
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise the work activities of others and make recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) of four (4) years of equivalent job-related experience.
