SUMMARY: The Floriculture Manager reports to the Director of Cultivation and is responsible for end-to-end processes of Cultivation Rooms. This position plans, organizes, directs, controls, and coordinates all activities for floriculture, harvest, and drying. They lead the team of workers engaged in mother plant management, propagation, vegetative plant growth, flower production, crop movement, IPM, irrigation, harvest, and drying. This is a highly critical position that creates the foundation and establishment of Curio Wellness best in class products. This is a hands-on job function where close attention is paid to all daily activities as well as paying attention to detail of the work done by floriculture technicians. They work with the team to ensure all KPIs and strategic departmental goals are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure that all floriculture activities are completed each week according to the SOP
- Manage irrigation and fertigation of plants
- Manage environmental controls of all rooms containing live plants and dry cure rooms
- Manage IPM of all crop stages
- Manage drying process
- Track Key Performance Indicators for the department
- Enter work schedules and process payroll for the department
- Manage plant inventory via METRC
- Responsible for the monthly field day - inventory
- Work with supervisors to plan weekly activities and priorities
- Write and update division SOPs
- Train and develop team members
- Holding team accountable, coaching, disciplining, and mentoring associates
- Managing 5s and ensuring all cGMP/cGAP functions and processes are adhered to
- Compile and present department performance information on a weekly basis at debrief meetings
- Track department/division performance within Acumatica and Metrc computer software systems
- Interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in the organization.
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Making Decisions and Problem Solving – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Developing Objectives and Strategies – Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice. This position will be responsible to adjust and comply with these changes.
- May be asked to stay later than the scheduled shift or work weekends to meet the weekly output goals if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidate will embrace a mindset of Extreme Ownership, taking full responsibility for their contributions and driving positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of fertilization, soil science, and plant nutrition
- Demonstrated knowledge of IPM and use of biological treatment for pests & diseases
- Advanced knowledge of plant cultivation and cultivation facility operations. Firsthand experience in the day-to-day use and management of irrigation and environmental climate control software systems
- Preferred Argus Systems, Priva, or similar
- Required: MS Office skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Demonstrated personnel management experience
- State Issued Pesticide Applicator License
- Metrc, and ERP Systems(Acumatica)
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience managing associates and operations
- Two years of experience in a position with managerial responsibilities
- Experience in a position requiring critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, and assessment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
- Proficiency in Windows-based software applications and database management
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) in Horticulture, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Plant Biology, Agricultural Sciences, or related major
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a secure, regulated environment.
