SUMMARY:  The Floriculture Supervisor position provides team oversight and performs essential tasks for the production of high-quality cannabis, including, but not limited to pruning, propagation, transplanting, transporting, and harvesting cannabis. This position works closely with the Floriculture Manager and attention to detail is extremely important. The ideal candidate will excel as a team leader within a tightly controlled, state regulated system and timelinesThis role routinely uses sharp instruments and is exposed to a variety of environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Exposure to tight corners and workspaces.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Supervising and executing all activities in the flower phase based on the SOPs.
  • Ensuring that all upkeeping/5s duties in the flower phase are efficiently executed.
  • Ensuring that all necessary data is collected and properly logged.
  • Leading morning huddles and end-of-day room check/sign off.
  • Follow, supervise to ensure and uphold GMP and GAP standards.
  • Calibrate pH/EC meters
  • Oversee flower room loadouts and authorize plant replacements when necessary.  Ensure quality control sheets are completed. 
  • Keep track of room environments and report deviations to the floriculture manager. 
  • Maintain plants with Metrc state compliance UID tagging system.
  • Follow and enforce SOP’s.
  • Submit work orders for any repair that may need Engineering to be involved.
  • Ensure proper cleaning of all irrigation-related filters and equipment across the facility.
  • Using computers and computer systems to write, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Ensuring all prioritized and planned work is carried out timely and efficient.
  • Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings – Monitoring and reviewing information from materials or processes to detect or assess problems.
  • Coaching and Developing Teammates – Identifying the developmental needs of direct reports and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Receive Task Information – Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Communicating with Superiors, Peers, and Subordinates – Providing information to subordinates, direct reports, and co-workers in written form, email, or in person
  • Thinking Creatively – Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products in collaboration with the Floriculture Manager.
  • Comply with Company policies, including confidentiality and disclosure.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.  This position will be responsible for adjusting and complying with these changes.
  • May be asked to stay later than the scheduled shift or work weekends to meet the weekly output goals if needed.

Required:

  • Prior commercial agricultural/horticultural experience in a greenhouse or nursery.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to follow protocols and willingness to learn new skills.

  • Effective time-management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work effectively and in a cohesive team atmosphere with all areas.

 

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or Horticultural Technical Certification or a minimum of 3 years of verifiable hands-on growing experience
  • Knowledge of controlled greenhouse environments.
  • Knowledge of State AG regulations.
  • Strong math skills

 

Education:

High School Diploma + Preferred AA Degree and/or Horticultural Technical Certs.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                              

This position will directly supervise the work activities of others and make recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
