The Warehouse Lead assists the supply chain department under the direction of the Inventory Logistics Manager to manage other duties related to facilities supply and organization functions. This role primarily participates in inventory control, warehouse organization, and production kitting support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Lead Warehouse Associates through their shift, ensuring team resources are properly utilized and set up for success to work safely and productively.
  • Reviews, approves, and files all receiving materials to ensure suppliers are paid on time, including but not limited to scanning, filing, and archiving packing slips, invoicing, and documenting credit purchases.
  • Ensure that all packaging and raw materials are properly rotated on a First Expired First Out (FEFO) basis.
  • Communicate with Logistics and Procurement Manager, as well as Purchasing staff, on inbound vendor non-conformance issues for SCAR creation.
  • Cross-train with Cultivation staff on a weekly basis to ensure alignment of inventory and warehouse procedures are being incorporated into daily tasks and to assist when staff coverage is needed.
  • Ensure that all materials received from vendors are properly received by lot number, expiration date, quantity, and that all product received meets quality standards.
  • Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials to proper departments or areas in preparation for receiving.
  • Assists with unpacking, examining, and diverting incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with Procurement and vendors to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Execute daily inventory control management practices within the warehouse and review discrepancies with the Manager.
  • Distribute inventory reports to leadership teams: Inventory Stockout Alerts, inventory discrepancy reports, 3PL / Offsite Report, expiration Report, Inventory Write-Off Report.
  • Coordinate shipments and offsite storage needs with 3PL Logistics team and production schedules.
  • Lead and enforce cGMP within the warehouse according to allergen control and product storage requirements to maintain certification status.
  • Maintain 5S within the warehouse for space optimization and cleanliness.
  • Prepares disposal of obsolete inventory in accordance with safety data sheets.
  • Support kitting activities and collaborate with Production teams on all ingredient and packaging requests.
  • Generate Field Day Pre-count Sheets the week of each scheduled Field Day.
  • Participate in monthly “Field Days” for warehouse control activities and review discrepancies with the Manager prior to submitting to inventory counts to Finance.
  • Create proposals for SOP and warehouse enhancements, present the plans for approval, and implement improvement ideas for better storage and material flow.

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse storage and inventory management for a manufacturing company.
  • Solid warehouse operations background.
  • Experience in forklift and pallet jack equipment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems and knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate Inventory and Supply Chain best practices across multiple locations.
  • Experience in creating SOPs and Standard Work in a 5S environment.
  • Familiar with and experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance.

 

Education and Experience:

1-3 years of experience in warehouse and inventory control practices.
